Williamsburg, Ky. ---- The Women's Soccer team put together a strong effort on the defensive side of the field,
Emily Hounsell recording nine saves, but the team could not put anything together on the offensive side as the team fell 3-0 to Mid-South Conference rival and 18th-ranked University of the Cumberlands today on the road.
NOTES
• Sunday's noon game saw Life U (4-1-1, 0-1 MSC) pick up its first loss of the season as No. 18 Cumberlands (Ky.) moves on to 5-0 (1-0) with the win.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Despite giving up three goals, Hounsell played hard collecting a career best nine saves as her record moves to 4-1-1 with her first loss of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U quickly found itself under pressure to start the game as Hounsell collected two saves in the first 10 minutes of the game. The Patriots broke through for what would be the deciding goal at the 29:07 mark of the first half. Four more saves and other strong defensive efforts over the rest of the half saw the team's go to the break with Life U trailing 1-0.
• The second half saw more of the same as Cumberlands (Ky.) kept the ball on Life U's side of the field the majority of the half, putting up two more goals for the final score of 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U was not awarded a single shot over the course of the game while the Patriots recorded 27 with 13 being on goal.
• Life U had the advantage when it came to saves earned, the team putting together 10 to Cumberlands (Ky.)'s 0.
• The Running Eagles collected more fouls than the Patriots, leading the statistic 7-3.
