Men's Soccer Drops Game, 5-2, Versus No. 4 Lindsey Wilson

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Men's Soccer team failed to keep up with No. 4 Lindsey Wilson in the second half, losing the afternoon Mid-South Conference game 5-2 at Lupo Family Field.
 
NOTES
• Sunday's afternoon game saw Life U fall to 1-3 (0-2) with the loss, while No. 4 Lindsey Wilson earns its first win of the season 1-1 (1-0).
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS 
Thierry Jules recorded the team's first goal of the game on a header, taking two shots total over the course of the game. Luciano Diaz also earned a goal off of his three total shots.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
• The first half played out as a game of streaks as goals came out in bundles. Lindsey Wilson got things started with goals in the 12th and 23rd minutes for a 2-0 lead. Life U came roaring back though, T. Jules getting things started with an up close header from a Callum Jenkins corner kick with 17:36 left in the first half. Just seven minutes later, the Running Eagles broke through again, Diaz tying things up 2-2 with a goal that was assisted by Zidane Bogle.
• The second half went completely against Life U. The team attempted more goals than the Blue Raiders over the course of the final 45 minutes of play, but three goals over a less than 10 minute span in the middle portion of the period saw the game put out of reach for Life U. 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The attempted shots were close in the game Life U shooting 15 to Lindsey Wilson's 17, but the shots on goal had a greater degree of disparity, the Running Eagle's trailing 7-3.
• Life U had the edge in saves earned, the team putting together two to Lindsey Wilson's one.
• The Running Eagles were called on more fouls than the Blue Raiders with the team's getting 18 and 16, respectively.
 
UP NEXT
• The Running Eagles hit the road for their next game, traveling to Mid-South Conference foe Campbellsville for a 6 PM Tuesday, February 23 meeting.
