CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. ---- The Life University women's soccer team fell late for the second consecutive Mid-South Conference game Tuesday night in a 1-0 loss to Campbellsville.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 4-3-1 as Campbellsville improved to 3-2.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Emily Hounsell totaled three saves in goal for the Running Eagles.
•
Daniela Cianchini totaled half of the team's shots with two as the Running Eagles did not register a shot on goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Neither team was able to score in the first half as Campbellsville led Life U in shots 4-2. Hounsell picked up her first save in the first half.
• At the half, the score remained 0-0 with Campbellsville being the only team to tally a shot on goal.
• 12 minutes into the second half Hounsell provided the save again to keep the score knotted at 0.
• Campbellsville broke through the defense in the 82
nd minute as a cross from seven yards out was headed into the back of the net to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
• Cianchini attempted to tie the game with five minutes left, but the shot was blocked. A foul on the ensuing corner kick turned the ball over as Campbellsville earned the 1-0 MSC win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Campbellsville led Life U in total shots 11-4. The Running Eagles finished with zero shots on frame to the four from the Tigers.
• Campbellsville held a slight 3-2 lead in corner kicks over Life U.
