Men's Basketball Comes Up Short on the Road at Martin Methodist, 74-69

PULASKI, Tenn. ---- The Life University men's basketball team stayed within striking distance the entire game, but could never completely close the gap, losing 74-69 in conference action at Martin Methodist last night.

NOTES
• Life U falls to 8-9 (4-9) on the year following the loss, while Martin Methodist improves to 13-8 (9-8).

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Three Life U players broke into double digit scoring, Lorenzo Ferrell leading the way with 15 points to go with his four rebound and two steals.
James Moore and Isaiah Hart were the other top scorers for the Running Eagles, scoring 14 and 12 points, respectively. Moore added seven boards and a steal to go with his points, while Hart had three rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U scored first and even took a 7-0 at 16:46 following a Jordan Hernandez three, but the Redhawks came back to take the lead not even four minutes later. The first half continued being a back and forth affair until Life U moved back up seven points, 33-26, following a Ferrell deep ball. The Running Eagles went cold from the floor shortly following his bucket, not scoring for a three minuted span in the final 3:30 of the half, going into the break trailing 41-37.
• Life U came back to take the lead, 51-49, at the 12:48 mark after Nathan Presnell got in a tough bucket in the paint, drawing the foul and completing the three-point play. The Redhawks retook the lead, but a Cam Horton three ball tied the game again with just six minutes to play at 60 all in what was still a game of tug-of-war. From that point, Martin Methodist went on a run to take control of the game, winning 74-69.
