Men's Volleyball Finishes MSC Road Trip in 3-0 Loss to Warner

LAKE WALES, Fla. ---- The No. 14 Life University men's volleyball team dropped its third straight Mid-South Conference match Saturday afternoon in 3-0 fashion to Warner University. 
 
NOTES
• Life U was unable to find a way to correct the errors as the Running Eagles finished with 19 errors to the six from the Royals.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS 
Carlos Negron led the Running Eagles with 15 kills and a .323 hitting percentage.
Felipe Gonzalez also finished in double figures with 10 kills.
• Jonathan Lemos tallied 22 assists as Ryan Ollie picked up 13. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Life U led 18-12 early in the first set after the kill from Gonzalez. Warner went on a 7-0 run to take a 19-18 lead that included four errors. Life U tied the set at 22 with the kill from Henson, however Warner finished the set on a 3-0 run to win 25-22.
• Both teams seemed to battle with the lead throughout the second set, as an ace from Lemos gave Life U the 11-10 advantage. A 4-1 run from Warner was erased with a 4-2 run from Life U as the set was tied at 16. A late 4-1 run from the Royals gave the home team the 22-19 lead. Life U cut the lead to one, 22-21, before Warner ended the set 25-21.
• Life U never led in the third set as Warner earned the 25-17 win for the sweep.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Both teams finished with 40 kills in the match. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .239 as Warner finished with a .486.
• Life U led Warner 38-37 in assists and 7-3 in aces.
• Warner led Life U in digs 25-21 and blocks 7-2.
 
UP NEXT
• The men's volleyball team will return to action on Wednesday, March 17, when they host Reinhardt University in Mid-South Conference action at 7 PM.
