MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The No. 7 nationally ranked Life University women's lacrosse team fell 18-8 to NCAA Division II Montevallo Saturday evening despite outshooting the visiting Falcons.

• Life U falls to 7-2 on the year as Montevallo improved to 5-1.

STANDOUT PERFORMERSÂ

Tina Ricci led both teams with five goals and two assists. She added a pair of ground balls and three draw controls.
•
Tori Adcox found the back of the night twice and added two ground balls, three caused turnovers and a pair of draw controls.

Brianna Freeman found the final goal for the Life U and added two assists. Â Â Â

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
• Montevallo struck first three minutes into the contest, as Life U quickly answered with goals from Ricci and Adcox to lead 2-1 with 23:41 on the clock.
• A pair of goals from Freeman tied the game, however Ave Maria regained the lead 5-4 with 12:30 left in the half.
• Montevallo began to click offensively with five unanswered goals until Freeman broke through with 11:31 on the clock to make the score 6-3.
• Montevallo went on another 6-0 run to lead 12-3 as Ricci scored her second to take the game into halftime 12-4 in favor of the Falcons.
• Montevallo struck first in the second half with a pair of goals, as Ricci scored her next two within a minute of each other to make the score 14-6. Ricci and Adcox each scored again in the remaining 15 minutes, however Montevallo held on for the 18-8 win adding the final goal with 2:04 on the clock.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished with 32 total shots as 20 were on frame. Montevallo tallied 28 shots with 24 on frame.
• Montevallo led Life U in saves 12-6.
• Life U was 19-of-30 on clears during the game as Montevallo finished 20-of-25.
• Montevallo committed 27 turnovers in the game as Life U finished with 26.
• Life U picked up 15 ground balls compared to the 27 from Montevallo. Montevallo also led Life U 16-12 in draw controls during the game.
