MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life U men's soccer team used a pair of second half goals from
Luciano Diaz to overcome a 3-2 halftime deficit with the 4-3 Mid-South Conference win over Thomas More at home Sunday afternoon.
NOTES
• The comeback victory improves the Running Eagles' record to 5-7 (4-6), while Thomas More drops to 2-7 (1-7).

STANDOUT PERFORMERSÂ
•
Thierry Jules led the team with nine shots and had four on frame. Jules tallied a pair of goals in the first half of the match.
• Diaz finished with four total shots and three on frame with the pair of goals.
•
Mattheus Brandao picked up an assist in the match with a pair of shots as
Bart Kooistra totaled four shots and an assist as well.
•
Fabian Pekruhl totaled three saves in goal for the Running Eagles and the win.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
• Thomas More came out early with a goal in the opening five minutes of the match to take an early 1-0 lead.
• Life U responded in the 11th minute with a goal from Jules. Two minutes later, Brandao connected with Jules to give the Running Eagles the 2-1 lead.
• Life U continued to dominate the shot count, however Thomas More was able to find goal when they did strike, adding goals in the 22nd and 25th minute to lead 3-2 at the break.
• 14 minutes into the second half, a Kooistra cross found the diving head of Diaz to knot the match at three.Â
• Continuing the offensive pressure, Diaz won a penalty in the 72nd minute. Placing the ball into the top right corner of the goal, Diaz gave the Running Eagles the lead 4-3.
 • The Life U defensive line limited Thomas More to just one shot in the final 18 minutes as the Running Eagles held on for the 4-3 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U outshot Thomas More 25-8 during the match, and also led in shots on frame 9-6. The Running Eagles held a staggering 16-3 advantage over the Saints in the second half.
• The Thomas More keeper secured five saves to the three from Pekruhl.
• Maintaining posession, Life U also led Thomas More in corner kicks 6-3.
