No. 18 Women's Volleyball Sweeps Freed-Hardeman at Home

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The No. 18 nationally ranked Life University women's volleyball team improved to 16-1 overall and 3-0 in Mid-South Conference play with a 3-0 sweep over Freed-Hardeman at home Saturday afternoon.

The Running Eagles dominated from the start winning set one 25-12. The Lions battled in the second set, however Life U earned the 25-21 win. In the final set, the Running Eagles closed out the match 25-11.

Life U dominated the stat sheet, leading Freed-Hardeman in every category. The Running Eagles finished with 47 kills and a .348 hitting percentage, while limiting the Lions to just 29 kills and a .061 hitting percentage. Life U also led 2-1 in aces, 11-2 in blocks, 43-28 in assists and 70-52 in digs.

Individually, Lena Pucnik led Life U with 16 kills, 12 digs, five total blocks and a .368 hitting percentage. Jessie Prichard finished with 36 assists, three block assists, three kils and a service ace with nine digs. Marin Black led the Running Eagles defensively with 19 digs as Savannah Keener (11) and Kennedy Deal (12) also finished in double figures. Mary Zimmerman totaled seven total blocks with five kills and a .556 hitting percentage.

Life U current sits tied with No. 13 Lindsey Wilson atop the MSC standings with a 3-0 record. The women's volleyball team will return to action on Wednesday, September 22, when they travel to Lebanon, Tenn. to face Cumberland University at 7 PM EST.
