MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's basketball team was overmatched by No. 1 Thomas More University Saturday afternoon at home in Mid-South Conference action.
Thomas More (20-1, 13-0) scored double digits in every quarter as Life U (6-15, 2-11) scored 15 points in the fourth quarter for its only double digit quarter of the game. The Saints outscored the Running Eagles 19-7 and 20-9 in the first half with a 14-6 and 19-15 showing in the second half. Life U never led in the game.Â
Thomas More finished 28-61 (45.9%) from the floor and 10-27 (37%) from three. The Saints were 6-11 from the free-throw line and scored 30 points in the paint with 31 bench points. They added 17 points off turnovers and finished the game with 41 rebounds, nine blocks, seven steals and 19 assists with just eight turnovers.Â
Life U finished 15-57 (26.3%) from the floor and 4-17 (23.5%) from behind the arc. The Running Eagles were 3-5 from the free-throw line and added 16 points in the paint. They tallied 39 rebounds with six assists and one block on 18 turnovers as a team.
Eva Caroline Singleton led the way for the Running Eagles with 14 points and six rebounds.
Tanit Calsapeu added 10 points with a pair of assists.

Lenise Santiago added seven points with three rebounds.Â
The women's basketball team will return to action on Monday, January 31, when they travel to (RV) Georgetown College for a 6 PM Mid-South Conference matchup.Â
