MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's volleyball team earned its third consecutive 3-0 sweep Wednesday night, as the Running Eagles welcomed Morehouse College to the Eagles' Nest.
Life U (8-2) dominated Morehouse (0-2) 25-2 in the first set to open the match. The Running Eagles won the next two sets 25-12 and 25-17 to earn their third consecutive sweep of the season.
Morehouse finished the match with just 12 kills and 11 errors for a .017 hitting percentage. They totaled one service aces, six total blocks, nine assists and 15 digs in the match. In the first set, the Maroon Tigers picked up just one kill.
Life U led in nearly every statistical category with 42 kills on 73 attempts with 13 attack errors for a .397 hitting percentage. The Running Eagles finished with 18 service aces, four total blocks, 39 assists and 33 digs. In the first set, Life U totaled 12 kills on just one error for a .688 hitting percentage as a team.Â
Individually,
Alex Cabana led the team in kills with nine and a hitting percentage of .818 with a service ace and a pair of block assists.
Jan Domenech added seven kills and a .455 hitting percentage as
Josh Henson picked up six kills and a .667 hitting percentage with a pair of service aces and a pair of digs.
Alexis Prado totaled a team-high nine digs as
Ryan Ollie put up six service aces in the first set.
Michael Archer finished just behind him with four in one set.Â
The men's volleyball team will return to action on Saturday, February 19, when they travel to Laurinburg, N.C. to face St. Andrews University in Mid-South Conference action at 3 PM.Â
