WALESKA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's volleyball team fell 3-1 on the road Wednesday night, as the Running Eagles traveled to face Reinhardt University in Mid-South Conference action.
Reinhardt jumped out to an early 2-0 lead winning the first two sets 25-20 and 25-23. Narrowing the gap in the second set, Life U used the momentum in the third set to win 25-16. The Running Eagles struggled offensively in the fourth set to fall 25-16 in the match.
Reinhardt totaled 46 kills in the match with 21 attacking errors for a .212 hitting percentage. The Eagles led in aces with four and blocks with 10. They added 44 assists with 43 digs and 11 service errors.
Life U finished with 48 kills in the match on 25 attacking errors for a .181 hitting percentage. The Running Eagles totaled three service aces and seven blocks, but led in assists (45) and digs (46). They finished with 13 service errors and led Reinhardt in kills in every set except the fourth.
Individually,
Ryan Ollie led the Running Eagles on a double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs. He added a pair of block assists and a service ace.
Alex Cabana also finished in double figures with 11 kills and four block assists with a solo block.
Javier Cornier tallied 41 assists in the match with eight digs and a pair of block assists.
The men's volleyball team will return to action on Friday, March 18, when they begin action in the Life U MSC Pod in the Eagles' Nest. Life U will face Midway at 11 AM and Bluefield at 7 PM in the opening day of the pod.
