MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's volleyball team earned the 3-0 sweep over Truett McConnell University Thursday night to win their third Mid-South Conference win in four games.
The Running Eagles earned the win with a 25-9 set one score, 25-21 in the second set and 25-22 in the third. 15 different Running Eagles were able to see action in the matchup as Life U dominated the stat sheet.
Truett McConnell totaled just 18 kills in the match with 15 errors for a .029 hitting percentage. They finished with a pair of service aces, four blocks, 16 assists and 41 digs. The Bears finished with four block assists and a pair of solo blocks with only three service errors.
Life U finished the match with 50 kills on 23 errors for a .227 hitting percentage. They added seven service aces, two solo blocks, two block assists, 46 assists and 61 digs in the match. The Running Eagles had five different individuals record seven or more kills in the match.
Individually,
Ryan Ollie led the way offensively with 11 kills and a .304 hitting percentage with five digs and a service ace.
Alex Cabana added seven kills with no errors for a .778 hitting percentage with a solo block and five digs.
Diego Perez,
Jan Domenech and
Diego Martinez each added seven kills each as well.
Nikolas Carrascal picked up a team-high 18 assists with five digs and a service ace as
Jonathan Lemos totaled 16 assists with three digs.
Jeyson Alvarez and
Gavin Wright finished with a team-high nine digs in the match.
The Running Eagles will conclude the regular season on Saturday, March 26, when they host St. Andrews University in a key MSC matchup that will determine seeding for the MSC Tournament next weekend.
