No. 4 Women's Lacrosse Earn Dominant 22-2 Home Win Over Marian

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The No. 4 nationally ranked Life University women's lacrosse team earned a 22-2 win at home over Marian University Sunday afternoon.

The Running Eagles never trailed in the game as they outscored the Knights in every quarter. Life U led 6-1 after the first quarter and 13-1 at the half. The Running Eagles tallied three additional goals in the third quarter, and closed out the game with a 6-1 advantage in the fourth for a 22-2 final. 

Life U led in all but one statistical category. The Running Eagles allowed just six shots all game, as they totaled 48. They also led 41-5 in shots on goal. The Knights held a 19-3 advantage in saves, and also led in turnovers 35-18. Marian was just 9-for-27 on clears in the game, as the Running Eagles finished nearly perfect at 19-for-20. Life U totaled 39 ground balls to the 14 from Marian and caused 26 turnovers to the 10 from the Knights.

Individually, Maria Arvizu totaled four goals with an assist and added eight ground balls with six caused turnovers. Angie Forbes added three goals with two assists and three ground balls with a pair of caused turnovers. Nina Sutton also picked up the hat trick on three goals with a pair of ground balls. Annaliese Froese scored three goals as well with an assist, five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Sarai Sanders and Brianna Freeman each tallied a pair of goals. Defensively, Reese Cook picked up three saves as Leanne Windon totaled five caused turnovers with four ground balls.

The women's lacrosse team will return to action on Friday, March 18, when they host (RV) Ottawa University on Lupo Family Field at 2 PM.
