MARIETTA, Ga. --- The Life University women's volleyball team faced Southern States Athletic Conference foe Blue Mountain College tonight, falling in straight sets in the Life U Upper Gym.
Life U (5-5, 2-3 SSAC) drops below .500 on the season in SSAC play after the complete game loss to Blue Mountain (17-2, 5-1 SSAC). The main deciders in the contest came on the serve and efficiency of the attack, Life U trailing on attack percentage .278-.061, while the Toppers serve gave them 17 aces while the Running Eagles compiled three.
In all three sets the Running Eagles never truly contested the Toppers, quickly falling behind in the first set on their way to a 25-13 loss. The second set, Life U stayed in the game longer, holding a 9-7 lead after an
Amanda Ray ace, but a run by Blue Mountain saw them take the lead and not give it up on their way to a 25-14 second set victory. The third and final set of the contest saw more of the same, scoring streaks by the Toppers keeping momentum on their side of the net as the third set came to a 25-14 end to end the match 3-0.
The Running Eagles stay home tomorrow, facing conference foe Stillman in a 1 PM game.
