MARIETTA, Ga. -- The Life University women's basketball team fell to the Crusaders from William Carey Thursday afternoon, 59-49.
The Running Eagles were led by Fapou Semebene and Maikya Simmons, who scored 14 and 15, respectively. Semebene also recorded 10 rebounds and snatched six steals in the losing effort.
To begin the game, the Running Eagles carried a one point lead to the second quarter before ultimately losing the lead to trail at half time, 27-25.
After the break, the third quarter is where the game began to unravel for Life U with the Crusaders shutting down the Running Eagles offense and limiting the home team to seven total points in the quarter.
In the fourth, the Running Eagles saw the Crusader lead grow to 16, but, by the end, the Running Eagles cut it down to 10 before ultimately losing, 59-49.
Up next, the Running Eagles are set to host Blue Mountain Christian College this Saturday in the Eagles' Nest. Tip off is set for 12 PM.
