MCKENZIE, Tenn. - The Life U women's soccer team made a return to the field and played RV Bethel University (Tenn.) to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium.
The two sides played a balanced contest in which the shot count was left at 14 for both teams.Both sides had a number of scoring chances in the first half but were unable to convert.
The Wildcats had many chances to convert, but Life U goalkeeper Grace Staunton came up with two saves to keep Bethel off the board. Midway through the second half, the Running Eagles were able to break the scoreless tie, as defender Rebecca Noren found herself in front of the goal and delivered a goal to take the lead 1-0.Â
From there, the Wildcats were not discouraged, and were able to equalize with a goal to make the score 1-1.Â
Both sides had a few looks in the final 22 minutes, but were unable to convert the game winner.
Up next, the Running Eagles will return to SSAC competition, traveling to Point this Saturday, Oct. 28 at 3 p.m.
