PULASKI, Tenn. - The Life U women's soccer team made a quick road trip to Pulaski, Tenn. and played the #12 University of Tennessee Southern Firehawks to a 2-2 draw on Thursday night.

The game started off as a tough battle between both the Running Eagles and the Firehawks, until UTS was able to put off a late shot in the first half in the 34' minute.  Despite many chances, Life U was not able to get a goal off by the break.

Midway through the second half, the Firehawks were able to put up another goal that brought the Running Eagles down 2-0 in the 78'.

From there, the Running Eagles were not going to go down without a fight, and were able to get a goal off in the 85' by Anakah Madril, who was also assisted by Lilja Bjorg Olafsdottir

Three minutes later,  Olafsdottir was fouled right in front of the goal and put the ball past the Firehawks goalkeeper in a late penalty kick bringing the Running Eagles to a 2-2 tie.

Both sides had one more look in the final minute, but were unable to convert the game winner.

The Running Eagles were able to compete at a high level and had a few more chances than the Firehawks with 20-16 shots on goal.

Senior goalkeeper Grace Staunton came up with seven saves to keep Life U at an even playing field.

"The team rose to the competition," Head Coach Meg Goddard said.  "Great results and fight to come from behind in tough conditions."

Up next, the Running Eagles will return home, hosting Blue Mountain University (Miss.) in a double header senior night at Lupo Family Field this Saturday, Oct. 7 at 4 p.m.

TURNING POINT:

- Behind in a 2-1 Firehawks lead, Olafsdottir conceded the equalizer from UTS in the 88'.
