MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U women's soccer team cruised to a 5-0 victory at home on Saturday afternoon's senior day in Marietta.
The Running Eagles scored three in the first half and two more in the second half to put the game away.
Life U totaled 27 shots for the contest, dominating possession throughout.
Sophomore Sacha Millward started things off early in the 1' minute mark with her fifth goal of the season, off an assist from Anakah Madril.
Then, Madril added one to the board after a penalty kick goal to lead the Running Eagles 2-0 early in the first half. In the 26' Madril was able to hand it off to Lilja Bjorg Olafsdottir to make it 3-0 going into the break.
Millward then tacked on another goal off of Madril's assist to make it 4-0 Running Eagles in the 55'. Then, just nine minutes later, junior Olafsdottir put another one in the back of the net, off an assist from Lottie Turner ending the night 5-0.
Head coach Meg Goddard shared her thoughts on the winning of senior day, "What a great way to finish our regular season at home." Goddard then continued, "Congratulations to our senior class. Thank you for your dedication to the program, to the university, and how you have welcomed me into the team. "
Up next, the Running Eagles will head to Hattiesburg, Miss. to host William Carey University (Miss.) this Thursday, October 12 at 6 p.m.
