MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U women's volleyball team held tough in a home contest against Blue Mountain Christian falling in four sets to the Toppers 3-1. The Running Eagles kept it close throughout the first two sets.
The Toppers had won in the first set with a 25-21 victory, but the Running Eagles pushed them to the brink in the second set.Â
Life U led 23-22 as the two were going back and forth down the stretch. The Toppers were able to answer and cost Life U the second set winning 25-23.Â
The Running Eagles fought hard to not let the game end in three sets. In the third set Life U created space to lead 20-14. The Toppers were not able to catch back up, giving the Running Eagles the third set with a 25-19 win.Â
The Toppers were off to a quick start by leading 16-4 in the fourth set. Life U was not able to collect more than eight points and fell in the set 25-8Â
Up next, the Running Eagles return home to host William Carey University (Miss.) in SSAC competition Friday at 6pm
TURNING POINT:
--Life U won in a 25-19 lead over BMCÂ in the third set but was unable to close it out, falling 25-8 in the fourth set.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--Fayola Louis led Life U with 14 kills in Saturday's contest.Â
