ATHENS, Tenn. --- The Life University women's lacrosse team got its 2023 campaign off to a brilliant start Saturday on the road, dominating Tennessee Wesleyan by a score of 21-1.

Lacy Legaspi's third assist of the day. The erst of the first saw a pair of scores by
Maria Arvizu and one by
Annaliese Froese to see the first quarter end with Life U leading 6-0.
The Running Eagles continued scoring at a steady rate over the remainder of the fist half, seven more goals coming in the second quarter. Arvizu completed a hat trick to start scoring in the period, while Legaspi earned a goal of her own less than a minute later as the lead expanded to 8-0. The only score that the oppressive Life U defense would allow came in the fifth minute of the period, cutting the lead to 8-1. The remainder of the half saw a pair of scores by
Lexi Santiago and one for
Peyton Sanders, while Sutton and Curto both recorded their second of the game. The teams went into the break with Life U leading 13-1.
After halftime, the Running Eagles continued to grind away on Tennessee Wesleyan, not allowing the Bulldogs any chance to get back into the game. With the game out of hand, defensive player,
Leanne Windon, got in on the scoring as well early in the third. Other scorers over the final two periods of play included: Andrews, Legaspi, Arvizu, Sanders, and Curto to give the final score of 21-1.
