MOBILE, Ala. – All that separated the Running Eagles and #9 Keiser was a penalty, as Life U's converted penalty kick in the 27th minute proved to be all the cushion needed on the hot and heavily contested Saturday contest.
The win moves the Running Eagles to a solid 2-0 start with a win over the very tough nationally-ranked Seahawks from Keiser. The Running Eagles (2-0) led in offensive output for the contest with
Luciano Diaz leading the team with five total shots (two on goal).
Lars Van der Steen's goal in the 27th minute was all it took, with the goal first goal being enough to earn and hold on to 1-0 lead.
The Running Eagles were able to hold the lead for the remainder of the game to give Life U its 2nd straight season with consecutive wins to open the season.
Outshooting the Seahawks 20-10, the Running Eagles placed six on target forcing five saves while
Branko Kanacki held strong in net with four saves to earn Life's second clean sheet of the season.
