MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Friday evening, the Life University women's volleyball team was able to make quick work of Faulkner taking down the Eagles in straight sets. The 3-0 win moved Life U to 7-6 in league play and 3-0 in conference play.
After a close start, the Running Eagles raced out to quickly end the first set 25-14 and held the Eagles to only six kills. The second set saw the Eagles keep pace for a time before Life U used another late run to create space.
Life U led 22-18, but the Eagles threatened with three straight points before the Running Eagles capitalized to finish the set 25-21. In the third, Faulkner rode momentum to an 11-7 start, but the Running Eagles did not back down.
Despite trailing most of the set, Life U was able to make it a battle down the stretch and forced extra points. The Running Eagles closed it out 30-28 to seal the 3-0 win.
Naomi Eckert Rivera tallied 46 assists, while Freshman Kalyn Keiser was key with two service aces.
Up next, Running Eagles travel to Point to face the Skyhawks on Friday, September 22nd at 6:00pm.
