MARIETTA, Ga. – Anakah Madril scored two goals to lead the Life U women's soccer team to an 8-0 win over Brewton-Parker College on Sunday at Lupo Family Field. The Running Eagle ended the weekend 3-0 in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
Marey Helgadottir opened the game with a goal from almost 40 yards out in the 18' minute. Just under three minutes later, midfielder Anakah Madril found the ball in front of the net to put it past the Barons goalkeeper creating a 2-0 lead Running Eagles.
The Running Eagles were just getting started, as shortly after Jeanne Brigand was able to put another one on the board with an assist from Sara Diaz and put the Running Eagles up by three.
Gabby Cruzado put up a goal quickly after to add to Life U's scoring frenzy to allow them to go into the half 4-0. The Running Eagles took 13 shots in the opening 45 and added three corner kicks.
Life U went on to score goals in the 57' from Madril again and was also able to add an assist in the 60' to give Amy Hunt a goal too.
Sophomore, Lilja Bjorg Olafsdottir was also able to add to the mix by netting the seventh goal of the afternoon and was assisted by Sara Diaz.
Life U's final goal in the 88' came from Marissa Moyle as she scored her first goal of the season. Lavinia Horning was able to get the ball to Moyle and gave Life U an 8-0 to end the game.
"The goal for the week was to be 3-0 in conference and get two shutouts," Head Coach Meg Goddard said. "I'm really happy the team achieved both."
