MOBILE, Ala. - The Life University women's volleyball team cruised in conference play yet again with a 3-1 win over the University of Mobile Friday on the road.
The Running Eagles now move to 5-0 in conference play set for another conference showdown against Stillman tomorrow, September 30th.
Life totaled 67 kills to the Rams' 48 as Fayola Louis led all competitors with 14 kills. Former national and conference Setter of the Week Naomi Eckert Rivera had another stellar match, earning 46 assists.
Lela Parker added eleven more kills in the contest, impressively leading the team with a .579 attack percentage.
The Rams appeared to be in control early with a 25-20 win in the opening, but after that, the Running Eagles gained momentum and held Mobile to just 14 in the second set. The third set was again closer before ultimately Life U earned the win.
Leading 23-19 late in the third and needing just two points to close out the frame, the Rams rallied to close the gap but two consecutive kills from Chloe Teter closed the frame to provide Life the 2-1 set advantage.
The next set the Running Eagles closed it out, never trailing with a convincing 25-18 win.
Up next, the ladies remain on the road to face Stillman College tomorrow at 2 pm et.
