MARIETTA, Ga. - In its first home game of 2024, the Life U women's basketball team fell 68-56 against University of Mobile (Ala.) in SSAC play on Wednesday evening in the Eagles' Nest.
Both the Rams and the Running Eagles kept it a close game, but Mobile was able to create a 15-point lead in the final minutes of the third quarter to create enough space to secure the win.Â
Life U led most of the first quarter. However, Mobile continued to fight, cutting its deficit to 12-12 with one minute remaining in the first quarter.Â
Life U responded in the second quarter by pulling away from the Rams by creating a ten-point deficit at the 6:26. The Rams were not going to the locker room without trying to bring it to 31-26 Life going into the break.Â
Mobile made sure to come out hot in the third quarter. Going on a 11-0 run in a two minute span brought the Rams 43-37 at the 5:52 mark.Â
The Rams offense continued to bounce back with a 29-point third quarter and never looked back taking the win back to Mobile.
Brionna Sims led the Running Eagles with 12 points and Maeisha Teasley followed with ten points, the only members of the team to reach double figures.
Up next, Life U will continue their home stretch taking on Stillman College in the Eagles' Nest with a tip off of 12 p.m.Â
