WEST POINT, Ga. - The offense rolled for men's basketball as Life University took down Point 89-71 in SSAC play to get back on track Wednesday night on the road. Devin Story led the Running Eagles with 36 points while also adding eight rebounds in the win.
The game was one-sided for much of the contest as the Running Eagles were able to surge ahead to a convincing 31-17 lead by the seven-minute mark in the first half. Both Devin Story and Joshua Ward's games began hot, as Story dropped 27 in the first half alone while Joshua Ward also caught the hot hand to score 20 to carry an impressive halftime 54-29 lead into the break.
Life U. then opened the second half with another run capped by a Will Freeman 3-pointer to make it 77-46. The Running Eagles maintained much of the substantial lead for the second half never letting the game get to anything less than 14 points.
The Skyhawks attempted to make it interesting inside the final minutes of play cutting it down to 14, but the Running Eagles left no doubt easily closing out the contest with the 89-70 win.
Devin Story matched a career-high 36 points while Joshua Ward added a season-high 30.
