MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U men's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 sweep over Talladega College in its third game of the season on Wednesday night in Marietta.
The Running Eagles were dominant in all three sets and improved to a perfect 3-0 at home.
Jose Llaneza led all players with eight kills and sophomore David Barcan was also highly efficient, generating seven kills.
Jakub Kantorowicz delivered six kills to go with a .455 attack percentage.Â
Freshman Jermey Ferreira continued his service magic, with three more service aces while also adding three kills and three digs.
The Tornadoes took the first point in the first set, but a quick 4-0 run from the Running Eagles helped them take off and Life U never looked back from there. Xavier Jones delivered back-to-back kills to make it 15-12 in favor of Life U and Jones closed out the set with an emphatic service ace.
The second set was even more dominant, as Diego Martinez and Kantorowicz both added four kills to close out a 25-18 win and put them one set away from the 3-0 sweep.
Talladega provided some resistance early in the third, but once again, eventually the Running Eagles took control. Fittingly, it was a Quintin Hornberger kill that closed out the festivities.
Up next, the Running Eagles will head to Fort Valley State University for their first road trip of the season, this Sunday, Feb 2 at 2 p.m.
