MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U men's basketball team fell behind early before delivering an offensive explosion in a 96-67 rout of Voorhees on Saturday afternoon in the Eagles' Nest.
The Running Eagles scored 19 points off 14 Tigers turnovers and knocked down 11-of-27 from beyond the arc.
Overall, 11 different Running Eagles scored in the contest with multiple reaching double figures. The group was led by Tyreke Johnson as the standout guard tallied 23 points and junior Chaze Harris pitched in with 18 points and seven assists.
Senior Elias Ramirez added 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting including a 4-8 from deep.
After a tight first half battle, the Tigers went into the locker room with a short lead of 41-37. However, it was all Running Eagles from out the halftime break, as they answered on Johnson's two layups and three pointers to bring the Running Eagles to their first lead since the beginning of the game.Â
Three minutes later, Ramirez would hit three three-pointers in a row to end all doubt for the Running Eagles defeating Voorhees 96-67.Â
Up next, the Running Eagles will host St. Thomas University for the Ken Woods Memorial Classic Friday November 1st at 7 p.m. in the Eagles' Nest.Â
