MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U men's basketball team conceded the first points of the contest but delivered their second-straight offensive explosion to outlast a second-half push and pick up a 91-75 win over St. Thomas.
The Running Eagles used a well-balanced scoring attack in the win as the team saw four Running Eagles reach double digits. The team also saw an impressive 28 points come from the bench.
Overall, nine different Running Eagles scored in the contest. The team was led by Cortez Johnson with an efficient 23 point, 12 rebound double-double. Matija Gledic pitched in with 17 points and six assists off the bench. Senior Elias Ramirez added 16 points, all coming from beyond the arc.
After controlling the first half and leading by as many as 18 in the first half, the second half became a battle after the Bobcats were able to gain the lead 60-59.
The Running Eagles quickly answered with a 5-0 run and never looked back as they grew the lead back to double digits and held on for their second win of the season.
The Running Eagles return to action tomorrow facing Southeastern in their second match of Ken Woods Memorial Classic. Tipoff is set for 1 pm in the Eagles' Nest.
