MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U women's volleyball team hosted Blue Mountain Christian in a SSAC match up Friday evening falling in four sets after a tough battle to the end.
After the Toppers pulled away in the first set, the Running Eagles rallied back in the third set to win 25-21 and force a fourth.
However, BMC took control of the third and fourth set and never looked back on its way to win the match 3-1.
Erica Irby and Imana Ellis both led the Running Eagles with ten kills while Chloe Teter pitched in six kills and Ellis earned a .714 hitting percentage.
Blue Mountain jumped out to an early lead in the first set with a 6-0 edge and never looked back taking the set 25-11.
The second set was all Life U as they took off early earning the 25-21 set win.
While the Toppers yet again took the lead in the third set, eventually winning the set 25-10 to push the game into another set.
However, it was a battle to the end with Life U bringing the game to a one point difference before falling 25-23.
Up next, the Running Eagles will host SSAC opponent UT Southern tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the Upper Gym
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:

- Gianna DeVarenne led the team with nine digs while Isabella Hanchi led with 20 assists.
