MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University women's basketball team secured a 51-36 victory over Talladega College in the Eagles' Nest. The game was marked by strong defensive performances on both sides, but the Running Eagles managed to maintain control throughout.
The Running Eagles took an early lead in the first quarter, finishing with a 7-4 advantage. By halftime, the Running Eagles extended their lead to 17-12, thanks to key contributions from Brionna Sims and Maikya Simmons, who combined for 10 points in the first half. The team relied heavily on their defense, forcing Talladega into 28 turnovers over the course of the game.
The third quarter saw Life U extend the lead further, outscoring Talladega 14-12. Sims played a pivotal role in the second half after Simmons left the game after a hard fall, adding nine points to finish with a game-high 13. Life's largest lead came late in the fourth quarter, at 15 points.
