HENDERSON, Tn. - The Life U men's basketball team fell short on Friday evening against #3 Freed-Hardeman University in a 85-80 loss. Freed-Hardeman held the lead at half time, 37-29, but the Running Eagles were able to catch up and take the lead during the second half. 

Tyreke Johnson led the Running Eagles as he scored 22 points including going 3-of-4 from the free throw line. Chaze Harris added 16 points and led the team with 14 rebounds, while Dara Olonade added 18 points and seven rebounds. 

Life U started off with a 10-5 lead in the first four minutes but FHU fought back and was able to take the lead in the eleventh minute. Both teams kept battling, but went into halftime with a six points difference in halftime, 29-37. 

The Running Eagles started off the second half strong after showing a tough defense and going on a 10-0 run in the first three minutes to take the lead, 39-37.  The Lions came back and led by seven with 14 minutes left on the clock. 

Life U was able to come back once again to take the lead once again. With eleven minutes left, the teams were tied and the last half of the second quarter the team were tied and took the lead from one another several times. 

During the second half, the Running Eagles outscored the Lions 51-48 to close up the game. Even though the hard fought battle, Life U wasn't able to catch up at the end of the game and fell short ending the game 80-85. 

Next up, Life U travels to Faulkner University on Monday December 16th for SSAC play at 7 p.m. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:

--Chaze Harris led the team with 14 rebounds and five assists, and added 16 points. 

--Tyreke Johnson led the Running Eagles with 22 points while Cortez Johnson added ten rebounds. 

--Dara Olonade added seven rebounds and 18 points while going 6-for-9 from field goal range.
