MARIETTA, Ga. - With six different goal scorers on the day, the Running Eagles dominated Georgetown College (Ky.) as Life U started their season 1-0.
From the jump, it was all Running Eagles as they scored five unanswered goals in the first period. This five goal run included a hat trick from Alyssa Curto, who scored all three goals within just three minutes of each other.
Jazzlynn Hollerbach also added two first period goals and Audrey Cook, Olivia Andrews and Annslee Warchol added a goal in the first quarter too. Â
Lexi Santiago opened the scoring in period number two as she scored her first of three on the day to make it 9-1. Santiago and Curto would add one more before the Tigers would put one on the board with 3:39 to go until halftime. The Running Eagles would go into the break leading 11-2.
In the third quarter, Life U held Georgetown scoreless and down by twelve thanks to Warchol, Curto and Santiago all scoring in the period leaving the Tigers trailing 14-2 to start the final period.Â
The Running Eagles continued the onslaught of offense well into the fourth period, leaving no doubt of the contest's outcome. Georgetown did have one more successful attempt at a goal, but when the final horn sounded, Life U capped off a dominant 16-3 win over the Tigers.
Up next, Life U will be back at home taking on Montreat College at Lupo Family Field on Tuesday, Feb. 13th at 6p.m..
