MARIETTA, Ga - The Life U women's lacrosse team clobbered Montreat College Tuesday evening, winning the contest 22-7.

The Running Eagles and Cavaliers went head-to-head, with the first two goals being scored early by Montreat. Life U eventually answered back with five goals with leading 5-4 going into the second quarter. 

Montreat came out again early in the second quarter to tie up the game, but Life U went on a 3-0 run to create an 8-5 lead, thanks to a pair of goals from lead-scorer Leanne Windon, Nicole Ortiz, and Annslee Warchol.

Out of half, Ortiz was able to put up another goal but Montreat looked to claw their way back into the contest by responding with a goal less than two minutes later. Following the Cavalier goal, the Running Eagles once again went on an offensive run with six goals from Sainabou Foon, Lexi Santiago, and two goals from Olivia Andrews and Windon. 

Leading 16-6 heading into the fourth, Life U went to score seven goals and Montreat one,before the contest went final, 22-7. 

TURNING POINT:

-- Life U added three unanswered goals heading into halftime to make the lead 8-5.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:

-- Defender Leanne Windon led the Running Eagles in scoring with six goals and nine draw controls.

-- Audrey Cook added five goals and Nicole Ortiz put four past the Montreat goalie.
