BABSON PARK, Fla. - The Life U Men's volleyball team held tough in a road contest at Webber International in AAC play falling in two straight sets to the Warriors 3-0. The Running Eagles kept fighting and were able to win the third set moving on to a fourth set.
The Running Eagles fought hard in the first set as the two were going point-for-point down the stretch. The Warriors were able to answer and go on a 5-1 run towards the middle of the set forcing back-to-back bad sets to cost Life U the first set.
In the second set the Running Eagles and the Warriors were going head to head keeping it close throughout the whole set. It was not enough for the Eagles to go out with a win as the set ended 28-26 to the Warriors.
The Running Eagles kept their heads up and went into the third set to go on a 8-2 run. The Eagles kept their lead throughout the set and were able to finish the set 25-21.
The Warriors had their largest win in the fourth set with a 25-17 victory, but Life U pushed them to the brink in the third set.
Even though a tough loss Xavier Jones managed to total 15 kills for the Running Eagles and David Barcan totaled 13 kills. Carlos Pinto led the team in assists with 37 while Alexis Prado made 14 digs.
Up next, the Running Eagles will travel to Reinhardt University in AAC competition Wednesday February 21st at 6 p.m..
