MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U women's basketball team came back for another home game strong with a 75-48 win on Tuesday evening at the Eagles' Nest.
Playing a non-conference conference game, the Running Eagles used a strong offensive second quarter by adding 28 to jump out to a large lead and never look back.
Once again, it was a balanced scoring attack from Life U, as 13 different players found the scoring column. The group was led by senior Maikya Simmons, who scored a team-high 12 points on 4-of-5 inside the arc and went 4-4 on the free throw line, while adding four assists and a team-best nine rebounds. The Running Eagle was joined in double figures by guard Brionna Sims, who delivered ten points with four rebounds.
The team was also led by Andrea Martin Ruiz who put up nine points and Darryn Zeigler grabbing six rebounds.
The Knights led twice at the beginning of the game before Life U slowly took control going on a 4-0 run helping the Running Eagles lead 13-9 going into the second quarter.
Life U was able to push the lead to 41-20 in the second quarter giving them enough space to take control of the game.
Leading by 21 going into the third quarter, the Knights continued to battle back, but the Running Eagles kept it strong in the offense by adding 21 points in the third quarter to lead 64-38.
During the fourth quarter, the Running Eagles kept their defense tight and eventually reached a 27 point lead toward the end of the game,
Up next, the Running Eagle are set to continue SSAC conference play and celebrate Senior Day, hosting Loyola University New Orleans on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. est.

- Life U had a strong offense in the second quarter, adding 28 points to build a 21-point lead and take control of the contest.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Simmons delivered a breakout game, scoring 12 points on 4-of-5 from inside the arc while grabbing nine rebounds.
- Sims totaled ten points while grabbing four rebounds.
