WINSTON-SALEM, NC. - Despite a slow start that saw Carolina University take the first set, the Life U men's volleyball team claimed a 3-1 win on the road against the Bruins Thursday evening.
It was an impressive night for Xavier Jones who totaled 14 kills for the Running Eagles. Jakaris Brown also had a phenomenal night with eight kills and two blocks.
Alexis Prado led the Running Eagles with 14 digs while Nefty Vigo added 22 assists on the night.
Life U fell behind after a 25-22 win for Carolina University in the first set, but then evened the score with a 27-25 win of their own. In the third set, Life U left no doubt with a 25-21 win and closed it out in four 25-20.
Up next, the Running Eagles will continue their weekend road trip to Virginia to take on AAC opponent Bluefield University tomorrow at 6 p.m.
TURNING POINT:
--After dropping the opening set, Life U was able to bounce back and leave no doubt.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--Xavier Jones tallied 14 kills while Jeremy Ferreira added five blocks.
