MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U men's lacrosse team fell behind early and never recovered in a 22-13 loss to Reinhardt University Saturday evening at Lupo Family Field.
The Eagles outscored the Running Eagles 12-3 in the first half, building an insurmountable advantage.
It did not take long for RU to take control, the Eagles went on a 5-0 run before Life U cracked the scoreboard on a goal by Jacob Long with 1:05 left in the first quarter.
The Eagles scored seven more times in the first half to build the nine-goal advantage going to the break.
Life U fought back in the second half, as both teams held each other to ten points with the Running Eagle outscoring RU in the third 5-4.
Long led Life U again scoring with five goals while adding one assist totaling 18 goals so far this season.
Tristan Berry, Brayden Hittle and Mackoy Bodmer also added a pair of goals. Josh Bell and Cole Gardner also added a goal each while Bell added two assists.
Goalkeeper Colin Willis made 20 saves in the loss.
Up next, the Running Eagles will take on Shorter University Saturday March 9 at 5 p.m. at Lupo Family Field.
