Running Eagles Rally Past Warner 20-15

LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Life U women's lacrosse team rallied past Warner 20-15 on Thursday afternoon on the road in Lake Wales Fl.

The Running Eagles scored an early goal before the Royals battled back, going on a 3-0 run to take the lead with 8:47 left in the first quarter. From there, though, it was all Life U, who was able to lead the rest of the afternoon.

The win marks the second conference win for the Running Eagles, who are 8-2 overall.

Graduate Student Annslee Warchol tallied a career-high six goals for Life U while junior Olivia Andrews totaled five goals and Lexi Santiago added four. .

It was Peyton Sanders who opened the scoring, with only 30 seconds into the game. After Warner tallied the next three goals to jump in front, Life U was able to add five more goals to lead 6-4 going into the second quarter. 

Both teams battled it out in the second quarter, with the Royals being able to bring themselves only trailing by one going into the halftime break. 

Santiago, Andrews and Warchol opened the second-half scoring to put the Running Eagles up 14-10 in the third quarter before Warner attempted its comeback. 

The Running Eagles used a 4-2 run to create a five goal difference to create enough space to secure a win.  Both teams were able to add one more goal to leave the score at 20-15. 

Up next, the Running Eagles will continue their road trip to take on Webber International University this Saturday, March 23 at 10 a.m.. to continue Sun Conference competition.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:

- Warchol scored her career-best six goals in the contest to lead the Running Eagles.

- Andrews added five goals while Santiago added four, an assist and six draw controls. 

- Alyssa Curto was able to put two in the back of the next and pass off two assists.

- Peyton Sanders and Nicole Ortiz both added a goal and an assist, while Sainabou Foon added a goal, two assists and six draw controls.
