MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U men's volleyball team took home another win with a straight sets victory over Talladega Saturday to earn a split on day two at home. Webber defeated the Running Eag;es in the opening match of the day 3-1.
Match 1: Webber 3, Life U 1
Webber took the opening set of the day against Life U 25-19 and the Running Eagles were able to come back and secure the second set 25-15 but it was the Warriors who prevailed taking the next two 25-21 and 25-18..
Life U kept close in the beginning of the fourth set as they attempted to even the scoreline and force a fifth set, but Webber was able to go on an 8-2 run securing enough space for the win.
David Barcan had another fantastic game this weekend as the Running Eagles led the team with 12 kills while also adding four blocks.
Jeremy Ferreira had another huge defensive game and tallied six blocks.
Match 2: Life U 3, Talladega 0
Life U was able to jump early in all three sets and won the first set 25-16, taking the second set 25-19 and the third 25-15.
Life U posted a .370 attack percentage as a team while holding Talladega to a .039 attack percentage.
Diego Martinez and Jakub Kantorowicz led the Running Eagles with eight kills while Drew Nunley added seven kills. Siebe de Gieter was impressive with six digs and Neft Vigo totaled 21 of the Running Eagles' 39 assists.
Up next, Life U will take on in-state competitor Reinhardt University this Wednesday at 6 p.m. at home in the Upper Gym.
