MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life U women's lacrosse team earned its tenth victory of the season at home Tuesday with a 23-2 win over Eastern Oregon.
Life U left no doubt in this one scoring nine in the first period and another five in the second to lead 14-2 at the break.
In the first period, Alyssa Curto managed two unassisted goals, while also assisting three of the nine goals scored. Nicole Ortiz and Lexi Santiago both added two in the first 15 minutes too.
Defenders Barrett Holston and Grace Stratton both also scored their first career goals, while Avery Arnold and Annslee Warchol added two in the back of the net.
The Mountaineers scored a goal in the first and second period, but went scoreless the last 30 minutes.
Eastern Oregon saw just four shots total as Life U tallied 36 shots with 33 on goal.
Up next, the Running Eagles return to action at home on Lupo against Sun Conference opponent Keiser University at 12 p.m.
TURNING POINT:
--The Running Eagles were able to score nine goals in the opening period to distance themselves from the Mountaineers.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--Alyssa Curto led Life U with 12 points in the contest contributing six goals and six assists.
--Lexi Santiago also added four goals in the contest, while both Nicole Ortiz and Olivia Andrews added three. Andrews was able to contribute four assists too.
--Defender Leanne Windon had a career high of 13 draw controls, while Santiago snagged five and Ortiz grabbed four.
