07.24.24

MARIETTA, Ga. --- Life University Director of Athletics Jayme Pendergast announced Dr. Robert Dubuque will serve in an expanded role as the new Director of Athletic Health.

Dubuque enters his second year on staff at Life University in the Fall of 2024, expanding into the role as the department's next Director of Athletic Health. Dr. Dubuque was previously named the university's Director of Chiropractic Sport Performance in the summer of 2023. Dr. Dubuque, who received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University in 2018 and currently serves as adjunct faculty clinician at LIFE, is a former collegiate student-athlete himself, playing tennis and serving as captain at Florida Atlantic University.  Off-campus, Dubuque also serves as a chiropractor at the Sports Chiropractic Institute, a multi-disciplinary clinic integrating chiropractic care, functional rehabilitation, and physio-therapy.

Director of Athletics Jayme Pendergast expanded on her confidence in Dubuque, stating, "We have one of the most talented and comprehensive athletic care departments in the country and I have so much confidence in Dr. Dubuque's ability to lead this department.  Over the past year as Director of Sports Chiropractic, he has built so much trust and rapport, and we've seen our sports chiropractic utilization more than triple as a result of his efforts.  Dr. Dubuque presented a vision of student-athlete care that was comprehensive, collaborative, and one that maximized the great people, resources, and assets of Life University. I'm thrilled to see his leadership and our department grow as he takes on this role."

Dubuque expressed his gratitude and excitement for the opportunity, stating, "I am really delighted to take this opportunity to serve as the Director of Athletic Care at Life University. Getting to know all of the wonderful people in athletics and working with this athletic care team has made this past year a great experience. I am excited to see what the future of Athletic Care at Life University holds and how we can continue to provide the best possible care to our student-athletes."
