10.16.25

MARIETTA, Ga. — Life University Athletics proudly announces the four newest inductees into its 2026 Hall of Fame class.

The sixth class inducted into the Hall of Fame includes Nosomy Pozo (MWR), Alexandria "Spiff" Sedrick (WRG), Mitchell Wilson (MRG), and Scott Lawrence (MRG).

Nosomy Pozo became the first men's wrestling NAIA National Champion at Life University in 2018 before defending his title in 2019. He also received two consecutive Mid-South Conference individual titles in both 2018 and 2019, dominating the 157-pound division. In just two years at Life U, Pozo qualified for both NAIA National Championship appearances, rising to the top of the weight class both years. In his 2018 run to the podium, he became Life U's second national finalist and was crowned the NAIA Wrestler of the Year after claiming the 157-lbs individual title.  In 2019, his run to the title solidified the Running Eagles'first-ever NAIA team trophy, earning a program best of 3rd place. Pozo's place in wrestling history was cemented as he became the eighth wrestler across all collegiate levels to win four national wrestling titles. Prior to Life U, Pozo was a two-time Junior College National Champion.

Alexandria (Spiff) Sedrick played as an integral part of the women's rugby team from 2017-2020. Named as a captain in her senior season, Spiff Sedrick was named the 2020 MA Sorensen Award winner, which is given to the best women's collegiate rugby player in America. Dominating the pitch as a speedy wing/center who ignited the Life University offense in both 7s and 15s, Sedrick was also named to the USA Falcons team that won the LA Invitational Women's Elite bracket scoring a try for the Falcons in the final to help secure that win. With a broad range of skills, Sedrick led the Running Eagles with elusive ball running and quick decisions as a smart player with strong passing abilities. A product of Utah Youth Rugby, Sedrick was named a D1 Elite All-American every year at Life U, was a 2017 CRC Champion, Life University's first and only MA Sorensen Winner, was a Pro Rugby 7s player and graduated with a 4.0. After leaving Life U, she joined the USA 7s team and was named Life U's first women's rugby Olympian in the Paris 2024 Olympics. In the Olympics, she was instrumental in USA's first Olympic rugby medal on either the women's or men's side. In the thrilling bronze-medal match against Australia, Sedrick scored the game-tying try that brought the stadium to its feet. She then nailed the subsequent conversion kick to seal the victory, securing USA's first ever team medal and marking a historic milestone for the team. Sedrick was selected to the 2025 HOF class but deferred her induction due to travel responsibilities with team USA.

Mitchell Wilson cemented himself as one of the most decorated players in Life University rugby history, serving as a captain on two national championship teams. Wilson was named a USA Rugby Collegiate All-American in both 2018 and 2019, helping guide the Running Eagles to dominance on the national stage. After Life U, he carried his leadership and elite playmaking into the professional ranks, becoming a two-time Major League Rugby Champion while competing for the New England Free Jacks. Wilson also rose to international competition as a USA Eagle, showcasing his skillset on the world stage and continuing the Life University tradition of producing national team caliber athletes.

Scott Lawrence, one of the most influential leaders and minds in Life University Athletics history, served as head coach of the men's rugby program from 2006 to 2017.  During his tenure, Life U won USA Rugby collegiate national championships in 2013 and 2016, a 7s title in 2011, and club rugby titles in 2008, 2013, and 2014.  Over his tenure, Lawrence developed numerous elite-level talent that would go on to represent the United States on the international stage.  Beyond Life University, Lawrence's coaching résumé includes leading the USA U20 team to victory at the 2012 Junior World Rugby Trophy, serving as defensive coach for the USA national team during key campaigns, and guiding the USA Selects in international competition. He also served as the inaugural head coach of Rugby ATL in Major League Rugby from 2019 to 2022, where he led the team to an Eastern Conference title and a runner-up finish in the 2021 MLR final. In 2023, Lawrence was appointed Head Coach and General Manager of the USA Men's Eagles. Under his leadership, the team has qualified for the prestigious 2027 Rugby World Cup.  Known for his strategic vision and commitment to player development, Lawrence is one of the most highly respected figures in American rugby.  Despite his leadership within rugby across the United States, Scott continues to serve and shape Life University Men's Rugby and generously gives back to the continued development of Life U's prestigious rugby program.
