Track & Field Takes on Orange & Purple Invitational

Clemson, S.C. - The Life University Track and Field team returned to Clemson University to compete in the Orange & Purple Invitational hosted by the Tigers. The Running Eagles once again produced a successful weekend that included multiple A-Standard times, a B-Standard time and numerous top-10 finishes.

Andre Edwards recorded an NAIA A-Standard time of 6.65 in the semifinals of the men's 60m dash.

In the women's 800m, sophomore Emeline Delaville earned an NAIA A-Standard time of 2:11.91.

Junior Daniel Williams claimed second place in men's 200m dash with an automatic qualifying time of 20.88 while teammate Wiaan Martin also earned a second place in the men's 400m dash with an automatic qualifying mark of 46.83.

In the women's 4x400m relay, Najah Gibson, Laisha Hernandez and Leyla Richardson joined Delaville in recording an NAIA B-Standard time of 3:57.99.

In the men's 800m, junior Gray McIntyre turned in a 1:52.89, earning himself an NAIA A-Standard finish.

Sophomore Cameron Kelperis claimed second place in the women's pole vault, recording an automatic qualifying mark of 3.82m.

Khalil Carr joined McIntyre, Martin and Williams for the men's 4x400m relay where the group turned in an NAIA A-Standard time of 3:12.10. The time also earned the group fourth place in the event.

The Running Eagles are back in action at Clemson once more, this time for the Clemson Bob Pollock starting on Friday, January 31.
