NEW ORLEANS, La. — The Life University women's basketball team dropped its road SSAC contest to the Lady Crusader of William Carey on Thursday night by a score of 68-51. The Running Eagles fell behind early and trailed for the entire 40-minute contest. 

The Running Eagles started slow from the floor as Loyola opened the contest on a 10-4 run. Dianis Hurtado drained a three with 02:02 left in the first to pull Life U within three but the Lady Crusaders offense continued to click as they closed the quarter with a seven-point lead.

A similar second quarter saw the Running Eagles trail by 18 at the half, with Kenya Robinson leading Life U in scoring with six points at the break.

Out of the half, William Carey kept its foot on the gas, pushing the lead to as many as 31. Life U fought hard till the final whistle but remained unable to mount the comeback. Brionna Sims and Robinson both finished the contest in double figures.
