MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University men's soccer team continued its' unbeaten season with three first-half goals against the Toppers of Blue Mountain Christian University late Wednesday night.

It took just over 13 minutes for the scoring to begin on Lupo Familly Field. Augusto Del Rio played a long ball from the back line towards the visitor box where Manuel Carrillo tapped the ball over a charging Toppers keeper. Caught awkwardly off his line, the keeper could do nothing but watch as the Running Eagles claimed an early 1-0 lead.

Life U struck again seven minutes later, this time with Finn Seijsener creating the chance. A flash of speed into the 18 saw Seijsener find a sprinting Carrillo, who laid it off for Andrei Apostu to tap home for the 2-0 lead.

With just over ten minutes left in the half, the home offense once again found the back of the net. Earning back-to-back corner opportunities, Enrico Lazzari took advantage of a great ball from Kaito Nakayama, heading home the third goal of the half.

Carrying the 3-0 lead into the break, the Life U defense allowed just four shots in the first half, none of which were on frame.

The second half was once again dominated by the Running Eagles as the defense allowed just two shots in the final 45.

Though the offense posted seven shots in the second half, the score line remained 3-0 until the final whistle.

"Good, solid win and another shutout so overall we are happy with the performance," said Head Coach Alex Pama. "Defensively, we didn't give away anything versus a good and much improved BMCU side. Now we have a short turnaround to play another solid, top team in the SSAC, UT Southern in Tennessee on Saturday. We want to thank the many fans tonight for their incredible support."
