Men's & Women's Swimming Takes Down Thomas on the Road

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Life University men's and women's swim program took down the Nighthawks of Thomas on Saturday afternoon. The men cruised to a 140-61 win while the women claimed a 109-81 victory.

Kyleigh Shonk, Petra Beky, Elisa Gross and Kendall Ashburn kicked off the meet by winning the women's 200 yard medley relay, with a time of 1:54.30. Bence Meresz, Xavier Trovesi, Carl Boennemark and Leo Guleryuez followed on the men's side, winning the 200 yard medley relay (1:36.89).

Raffaele Urtiola Rojas picked up the first individual event win of the day, claiming the men's 1650 free in 16:21.55. Malfrid Seteklev followed with the first individual event win on the women's side, posting a 2:04.56 in the 200 yard free. The freshman also won the 100 yard free (57.25), narrowly out pacing her teammate Shonk (58.30).

Ashburn picked up an individual event win of her own, taking the women's 50 yard free in 25.78. Meresz also won the 50 free on the men's side, posting a 22.79.

Winning the men's 200 yard IM, Trovesi swam a 1:57.15 and was the only swimmer to go below two minutes at the meet. Teammate Rasmus Petersen followed with an event win of his own, swimming a 50.51 in the 100 yard freestyle.

Gross picked up big points on the women's side, winning the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.05.

Winning by a wide margin, Beky swam a 5:37.12 in the women's 500 yard free. Roger Ranea Vila followed on the men's side, claiming the event win with a time of 4:51.66.

In the final event on the women's side,Terangimarie Moanaroa, Seteklev, Ashburn and Beky won the 800 yard freestyle relay in 8:34.60. On the men's side, Arthur Silva, Mate Dort, Bonnemark and Urtiola Rojas also won the 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:24.45.
