Women's Basketball Earns Win over Brewton-Parker in SSAC Play

MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University women's basketball team remained perfect in SSAC play Saturday afternoon, rolling past Brewton-Parker 85–54 to improve to 2-0 in conference play. The Running Eagles controlled the game wire-to-wire and posted their highest scoring total of the season.

Life U opened with a fast start, putting up 20 points in the first quarter behind early threes from Emily Perez and strong pressure defense that produced seven steals in the period. The Running Eagles matched that energy in the second, again scoring 20 while holding the Barons to 12, taking a 40–24 lead into halftime. Strong floor general play rom Myori Pruitt and active work on the boards from Kaden McCorvey and Kenya Robinson helped extend the advantage.

The third quarter slowed slightly offensively but remained firmly under Life U control. The Running Eagles added 15 points with contributions from Offutt and Robinson inside. Entering the fourth with a 55–33 lead, Life U closed with its best offensive frame of the game—dropping 30 points and stretching the margin to as many as 34.

The Running Eagles' defensive intensity set the tone throughout the contest. The team forced 28 turnovers, swiped 15 steals, and turned those chances into 24 points. They also dominated the glass 45–34, including 17 offensive rebounds that led to 20 second-chance points. From deep, the team shot an efficient 39.1% (9-of-23) while also registering 20 assists on 31 made field goals.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:

Aniyah Offutt powered the offense with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists on 8-of-14 shooting.

Emily Perez delivered 14 points, hitting four threes and adding 3 assists, 4 boards, and a block.

Kenya Robinson added 11 points and 7 rebounds, including 5 on the offensive glass.

Madison Carey scored 9 points with 3 steals and went 3-for-6 from the field.

Myori Pruitt filled the stat sheet with 6 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 steals, continuing to lead the attack through stellar point guard play.

Vika Afungia provided a spark off the bench with 6 points in 10 minutes, including a perfect fourth quarter.
