MARIETTA, Ga. — The No. 1 Life University women's wrestling team opened its 2025–26 campaign with a dominant showing at Friday's Eagle Madness Duals, sweeping both visiting opponents in emphatic fashion. The Running Eagles crushed Andrew College 47-1 before securing a 37-8 victory over Missouri Baptist to start the season 2-0.
Life U vs Andrew College
Life U set the tone immediately, winning all ten official bouts. Macie Anderson opened the dual at 103 lbs. with a win, followed by first-period falls from Alyssa Quezaire at 110 lbs. and Diana Gonzalez at 117 lbs. The early momentum continued as Anna Krejsa posted a 10-0 technical fall at 124 lbs., and Lexy Pabon added a fall at 131 lbs.
Christina Jaen and Zayla Vann extended the lead with back-to-back technical falls at 138 lbs. and 145 lbs. Latifah McBryde earned a forfeit at 160 lbs., while Reka Busa delivered a 1:02 fall at 180 lbs. The dual concluded with Madeline Welch's forfeit victory at 207 lbs.
Three extra matches followed, with Andrew taking one via decision before Kennedy Russell (TF 11-0) and Lahela Turnquest (TF 10-0) added two more dominant Life U wins.
Life U vs Missouri Baptist
The Running Eagles maintained full control in their second dual of the day, opening with four straight bonus-point wins. Anderson notched a 10-0 technical fall in 39 seconds at 103 lbs., Quezaire followed with a 39-second pin at 110 lbs., Gonzalez recorded another 10-0 tech fall at 117 lbs., and Krejsa added a 10-0 tech fall at 124 lbs.
Life U picked up back-to-back forfeits at 131 lbs. (Pabon) and 138 lbs. (Jaen) before Missouri Baptist earned a fall at 145 lbs. The Running Eagles responded as Yasmine Oliveira secured a 10-0 technical fall at 160 lbs. and Busa added a 30-second pin at 180 lbs. The dual closed with a narrow 4-4 criteria decision at 207 lbs. going to Missouri Baptist, resulting in the final 37-8 margin.
Life U continues its opening weekend tomorrow as the Running Eagles host the annual Eagle Madness Open.
