2025-26 Women's Wrestling Season Recap

• The Life University Women's Wrestling program posted an 11-2 overall dual record during the 2025-26 season, leading to its sixth-straight conference championship, third-straight NWCA National Duals title, and second-consecutive NAIA National Tournament win.
• The program won their third-consecutive duals title at NWCA National Duals, defending last year's champion in emphatic fashion.
• Likewise, the program secured their second-straight NAIA National Tournament team title prior to the championship bouts with an impressive 169 points.
• The team recorded eight All-Americans, eight Conference Champions, one National Champion and an NAIA-best 17 Daktronics Scholar-Athletes.

• The Life University Women's Wrestling program kicked off the 2025-26 with the annual Eagle Madness Duals and Eagle Madness Open, earning multiple open champions and two dominant dual wins.
• The Running Eagles then hosted Andrew College and Indiana Tech for a pair of exciting matchups at the Fight on Lupo Family Field. 
• The team then went on the road to compete in strong NCAA and NAIA tournament at Presbyterian College, the University of the Cumberlands, and Northwestern. 

Eagle Madness Open | Fight on the Field

The Life University women’s wrestling team delivered a dominant showing at the 2026 NAIA National Duals, winning its third consecutive NWCA National Duals Championship with a perfect 4–0 run in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The Running Eagles opened with commanding wins over Missouri Valley College (43–2) and Texas Wesleyan (39–9) before grinding out a 24–18 semifinal victory over William Penn to reach the title match. In the championship dual, Life U overcame an early deficit to defeat #2 University of Providence 32–11, pulling away through the middle and upper weights behind key bonus-point wins and ranked victories across the lineup.

With consistent scoring depth and timely performances with individuals moving up weight classes when needed, the Running Eagles once again finished the weekend atop the podium, securing another national title and continuing the team's championship standard.

• The Life University Women's Wrestling Program sent a full 12-woman contingent to the 2026 Mid-South Conference Championships in Bowling Green, Ky.
• Earning Eight Individual Titles:
  • Diana Gonzalez: 110 lbs.
  • Salyna Shotwell: 117 lbs.
  • Sarah Savidge: 131 lbs.
  • Zaynah McBryde: 138 lbs.
  • Jamilah McBryde: 145 lbs.
  • Latifah McBryde: 160 lbs.
  • Reka Busa: 180 lbs. 
  • Madeline Welch: 207 lbs. 
• As a program, the Running Eagles had ten all-conference members. 
• After the tournament, the team also saw Latifah McBryde earn Wrestler of the Year Honors.

• At the 2025–26 NAIA National Championships, Life U claimed its second consecutive team title, with eight individuals earning All-American honors..
• Jamilah McBryde highlighted the group, claiming the 145-lbs National Championship for the second time as a Running Eagle. 
• The team also had three other individual earn runner-up finishes:

  • Olivia Mottley: 2nd
  • Zaynah McBryde: 2nd
• Other notable finishes included:
  • Sarah Savidge: 4th
  • Latifah McBryde: 3rd
  • Reka Busa: 3rd
  • Maddy Welch: 6th
• Additionally, the team had an NAIA-most 17 individuals earn a spot on the Winter Daktronics list.
